The Sharpsbox series witnesses the journey of infertility treatments. They capture the physical and emotional aftermath of endometriosis, ectopic pregnancy, and continuing on despite failed IVF treatments. Hope, grief, brutality, trash, I combined all of it in these sculptures, allowing me to find healing and solace in the process itself.
These works were made in real time as the procedures unfolded and are made from the waste generated by my care. The syringes are the ones that injected medicine into my body. The egg shells and bones are from the protein that I ate. Even the paper, I took from the examination tables I laid on.
